To navigate cPanel’s many pages and functions:
Log into cPanel. If you are unsure how to do that, check out the ‘Logging in to cPanel’ guide on the Apexhost website knowledgebase.
UPDATING CONTACT INFO
One of the first things you should do is ensure your information is up-to-date so that you can receive any important email from your hosting company.
1. Select the profile icon (top RHS) and select Contact Information.
OR
1. Scroll down to to Preferences, and select Contact Information.
2. Enter your preferred email so you can be kept up to date with any important cPanel hosting notifications.
UPDATING YOUR CPANEL PASSWORD
If you would like to change your password to log into cPanel:
1. Scroll down to to Preferences, and select Password & Security.
OR
1. Select the profile icon (top RHS) and select Password & Security.
2. You will need to enter your old password to change it. You can generate a password here and select Change your password now!
(remember to copy-paste any passwords someplace safe before making any changes)
If you need to reset your password, but forgot your old password, you can update it from the Client Area without needing the old one.
IMPORTANT - STATISTICS
To view your space’s stats, scroll down and on the RHS of the page you can see important information about the account.
It will show the below:
*Alias Domains
*Addon Domains
*Disk Usage
*MySQL® Disk Usage
*PostgreSQL Disk Usage
*Bandwidth
*Subdomains
*Email Accounts
*Mailing Lists
*Autoresponders
*Forwarders
*Email Filters
*FTP Accounts
*MySQL® Databases
*PostgreSQL Databases
*CPU Usage
*Entry Processes
*Physical Memory Usage
*IOPS
*I/O Usage
*Number of Processes
ACCESSING SERVER INFORMATION
To access the server information:
1. Scroll to the top of the page so you can see the General Information box on the RHS of the page.
2. Select Server Information
This tells you the below:
*Hosting Package
*Server Name
*cPanel Version
*Apache Version
*MySQL Version
*Architecture
*Operating System
*Shared IP Address
*Path to Sendmail
*Path to Perl
*Perl Version
*Kernel Version
It also tells you what parts of the server are running, with green, yellow and red indicators for each service.
3. Scroll down and select Go Back to exit the server information page.

1. Scroll down to the bottom of your cPanel home page
2. Select Documentation in blue (Bottom RHS)

LOGGING OUT OF YOUR CPANEL
1. Select the user icon (Top RHS) and select Log Out.
2. Close the page.
Remember: especially if you are using a public computer, always log out of cPanel before closing due to security reasons.
